BORDER PIPES Currently available in G and D these pipes have a range of
1 1/2 octaves and are chromatic for most of their range. They are
played using half closed fingering. They can be mouth or bellows
blown and fitted with 1-3 drones. Plain sets are made from apple wood,
sets with mounts are made from laburnum, other timbers are available on
request. The bags are made from hand sewn leather and all of the reeds
and valves are synthetic.

GRANDE CORNEMUSE BOURBONNAISE This bagpipe originated in the
Bourbonnais region of central France. They are played with open
fingering a rich sonorous tone and have a near chromatic range of 1 1/2
octaves. Currently available in the key of D and fitted with two
drones, the tenor drone sharing a stock with the chanter. Plain Style
Made from apple, cherry or pear wood (subject to availability) without
decoration £1000 With mounts of artificial ivory , artificial horn,
boxwood or pewter (simple bands rather than the complex incrustes
d'etain) Made from plum, laburnum £1250 or boxwood £1350 With incrustes d'etain from £1600 depending on the complexity of the
design/choice of timber.
HISTORIC PIPES I also make Flemish and
medieval bagpipes. The choice of timber and prices are the same as for
my border pipes.
